Shizuka Modica, PhD, ACC (Co-Founder and Partner)
Shizuka has an extensive background and experience in higher education administration both in Japan and the U.S. After being a Fulbright scholar in international education program administration, she earned her master's degree from Harvard Graduate School of Education in 1988 and her Ph.D. in higher education from the University of Virginia in 2007. Shizuka is also certified by the Center of Creative Leadership for its 360 degree performance assessment instruments. She has researched entrepreneurship and written business cases for the University of Virginia (U.Va.), Darden School of Business, and has taught Organizational Behavior to U.Va. undergraduate students. Shizuka's programs including her individual and group coaching service are firmly grounded in human motivation theories and positive psychology. She is passionate about co-creating environments with clients where people find their work meaningful and sustainable.

Marc W. Modica, MA (Co-Founder and Partner)
Marc is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Virginia Darden Graduate School of Business where he teaches courses in Negotiations, Conflict Transformation, Management Communication and a variety of other subjects centered on creating value through organizational leadership and personal development. Having lived in Japan for over 15 years, Marc has extensive experience teaching internationally and is a founding faculty member in Darden's Graduate Executive MBA Program. Marc teaches executive seminars and programs with clients including Olin Corporation, Skanska Construction Group, MassMutual, AES Corporation, The School District of Lagos State Nigeria, the US Army, US Navy, USAF, the NSA and United States Department of Labor. He also enjoys working with K-12 educators, physicians and hospital administrators.
